Which mount

Shoulder, pedestal or backpack.

All three are the same buck, the same hide care and the same finish work. The difference is how much of the animal you see and where he lives in the house.

Custom habitat adds a natural scene under or behind the mount: rock, timber, leaves, snow. $400 on a shoulder mount, quoted at drop-off on a pedestal because the base decides the price.

What the price covers.

Professional tanning.
Your cape goes to a commercial tannery. Tanned hide stays soft and stable for decades. Dry-preserved hide cracks and shrinks.
A form altered to your deer.
Measurements taken at drop-off. The form is chosen for your buck’s size and pose, then reshaped where he differs from the mold.
Premium eyes, ear systems and finish.
The materials that decide whether a mount looks alive. I don’t save money here, and I don’t charge extra for it.
Your pose and turn.
Upright, semi-sneak or sneak, left or right turn, chosen together at drop-off with the room in mind.
Two texts, no chasing.
One to set your drop-off appointment, and one with a photo of the finished mount when he’s ready to pick up.
Hanging hardware and care instructions.
At pickup we go over how to hang him, where to keep him away from sun and heat, and how to keep him clean.

Money questions

Straight answers.

Why a 50% deposit?

The deposit covers tanning and the form, which I pay for up front within days of your drop-off. It also holds your spot in a capped book. The balance is due when you pick up.

Is the price really final?

Yes. The only things that change the number are add-ons you choose at drop-off, like a custom habitat or rush service, and you’ll know those before you leave.

What does rush service cost?

It depends on the date you need and where the season is. Tanning has a floor that can’t be rushed, so I quote rush honestly at drop-off rather than promising something on a website.

Do you take deer from outside Coshocton County?

Yes, and plenty of hunters drive for it. Same price wherever you hunted.

How do I compare this to other shops?

Ask any shop three things: is the hide commercially tanned, will the form be altered to my deer, and when will I hear from you. Then look at their eyes and ears up close. Price matters, but those four things are what you’ll live with.
